Mentorship is a crucial part of our program at BFA. Mentoring at-risk Boys and girls and helping them grow to become responsible adults is BFA’s goal.
At-risk young adults with a mentor are likelier to hold a leadership position in a club, sports team, school council, or another group (51 per cent versus 22).
At-risk young adults with a mentor are more likely to volunteer regularly in their communities (48 per cent versus 27) Young adults with mentors, particularly those at-risk, are likelier to report engaging in productive and beneficial activities than youth without mentors. These activities translate into the higher self-esteem and self-confidence, necessary for youth to engage in teamwork and community work, and to be successful in life.
